Nothing goes better with fast internet than fast trucks! Over Memorial Day weekend, Zane Smith proved this to be true as he zoomed his way to a 5th place finish out of a field of 35 at the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
If you watched the race, you probably noticed something different about Zane’s truck. To celebrate Memorial Day and honor America’s fallen soldiers, he ran with a special “Got Freedom? Thank a Soldier!” stars and stripes paint job sponsored by Conterra Networks and RTA (Rural Telecommunications of America, Inc.)
Here at Conterra, we were very excited to partner with RTA on this, not just to pay tribute to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom and way of life, but also because RTA and Conterra share a vision for bringing high-speed internet to rural America.
Everyone deserves access to broadband, and working with NASCAR is a fantastic medium for getting the word out to rural businesses and communities that fiber optic connections are within reach.
Zane Smith agreed, saying that companies working to expand networks in smaller towns are, “A perfect partner for our sport as they are leading the way in bringing high-speed internet to NASCAR fans all over rural America.”
Fast Internet Matters to Rural America
Investing in rural network infrastructure is vital for building stronger communities that are better equipped to succeed in our increasingly connected world. Fiber optics connects local businesses and residents to the global economy, including markets, resources and people that would otherwise be out of reach.
Here are just a few ways fast, reliable internet empowers rural areas in America:
- Internet availability drives revenue growth and lowers costs. Slow connections and outages costs businesses real money in lost sales and fast internet makes virtual meetings and other communications tools possible.
- Fiber optics bring the best in online education to small towns where educational resources are limited, particularly college courses and trade school options.
- As virtual healthcare expands, broadband makes it possible for faraway specialists to treat patients anywhere in the country.
- Smart technology developed for more efficient farming and agriculture rely on high-speed internet to work.
The future is connected. Conterra Networks is bringing this future to the underserved, on 100% fiber networks with symmetrical service and speeds of up to 10 Gbps and 99.99% network reliability.
Expanding Network Infrastructure in North Carolina
Conterra Networks was rooting for Zane at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, but we’ve been busy off the track in North Carolina, too. Delivering ultra-fast, reliable, and efficient fiber solutions for schools and businesses across the state.
We’ve recently expanded to Salisbury, Kannapolis, Jacksonville, Morehead City, Statesville, Hickory, Monroe, Sanford, Rocky Mount, Greenville, Pinehurst, and Southern Pines, with plans for additional investment in rural infrastructure to come.
